Note

"Note" is the unit of every information managed in Note Mania. While having the same potentials, each of notes can do a different role, depending on various note properties, category properties and tools you use with it. Some notes can be appointment reminders while some notes can be phrases you need frequently in your word processing:

You can set schedule properties for any note and it will remind you and/or launch some program or website at the specified time for you. It can be a recurrent event like weekly, monthly as well as a simple one time event.

A note can have various things for its link property and can act like a shortcut. For example, you can enter an email address for the link property and quickly send email whenever you want by simply launching it.
List of supported links:
A document file ("x:\folder\file.ext")
An executable file ("x:\folder\file.exe" optional parameters)
A folder ("x:\folder")
A website address (http://abc.com)
An email address (mailto:aaa@bbb.com)
Another note - copy&paste the note onto the link property
etc.

Visual properties such as font, colors can be changed globally or for each note individually. Notes can also be made transparent to a certain point so that they do not completely conceal things behind.

Pad

Every note created can be browsed and managed using the Pad window. Pad is also useful when you want to review the things you've done or to preview the things to come for the day or for the week, etc. You can also look for a specific note using the full text search feature.

Calendar

Notes marked as "Show on Calendar" automatically appear on the built-in Calendar and can be managed with it. You can use your favorite image file as the Calendar background, so that it suits your personal taste.

Bookmark

Notes can be bookmarked for quick accesses. Bookmarks are displayed at the right edge of the screen to provide easy accessibility while occupying only minimal space. Bookmarks can also be accessed via the Note Mania taskbar icon's context menu.

Recently used notes are automatically and temporarily bookmarked.

Note Feed

Note Mania can be configured to check new articles of the RSS/Atom feeds you subscribed. The titles of new articles will be received as notes and you can decide whether to read them or not without visiting the sites.

Quick Paste/Quick Launch

If you have some texts or items to be pasted or launched frequently, you can create notes of them in a category and use Quick Paste or Quick Launch feature to do it fast.

Use the Shortcut Wizard to create Quick Paste/Launch shortcuts and specify hotkeys on them.

System Clipboard Support

When you create a new note, it uses contents of the system clipboard at the moment as its text automatically. Besides text, the file clipboard format and famous web browsers'* bookmark/favorite formats are also supported. (* currently Firefox and Internet Explorer)

You can also easily copy the text or link of any note back into the system clipboard, using the keyboard shortcut or the note context menu.

Unicode Support

You can use any languages supported by your OS simultaneously for any text you enter.

Command Line Options (and how to use them for a keyboard shortcut)

Note Mania supports several command line options. For example, a shortcut named "New Note" is created when you install Note Mania, with the command line option /n, in the Note Mania program group. The option /n is for creating a new note. If you specify a keyboard shortcut using the shortcut's properties dialog, you can use that keyboard shortcut whenever you want to create a new note.

Note Mania recognizes following command line options:
filename - Open the specified note file (.mpn).
/n <text> - Create a new note. <text> is optional.
/p - Open Pad window.
/c - Open Calendar window.

(Not all the features apply to the Lite version.)
