Note Mania is a lightweight, easy-to-use yet feature-rich personal info manager, which can act as a simple sticky note pad to a comprehensive organizer.

Note

You can schedule any note to remind you and/or launch a program or website. It can be a recurrent event (weekly, monthly, etc) or a simple one time event.

A note can have various things in its link property and can act as a shortcut. For example, you can enter an email address in the link property of a note containing contact info and quickly send email whenever you want by launching it.
List of supported links:
A document file ("x:\folder\file.ext")
An executable file ("x:\folder\file.exe" optional parameters)
A folder ("x:\folder")
A website address (http://abc.com)
An email address (mailto:aaa@bbb.com)
Another note - copy&paste a note into the link property
etc.

Visual properties such as font, colors can be changed category-wide or for each note individually. Notes can be made transparent so they do not completely conceal things behind.

Pad

All your notes can be browsed and managed using the Pad window. Pad is also useful when you want to review things you've done or to preview things to come for the day or for the week, etc. You can also look for a specific note using the full text search box.

Calendar

Notes marked "Show on Calendar" appear on the built-in calendar and can be managed using the calendar. You can use any image files as the calendar background.

Note Feed

Note Mania can be configured to check new articles in RSS/Atom feeds. The titles of new articles will be downloaded as notes and you can decide whether to visit the webpage to read them or not.

Note Skin

You can use note skins to change notes' appearances. You can design your own note skins or can use skins from other Note Mania users.

The skin support various image formats including animated gif images and can have different looks depending on the note's state.

Quick Paste/Quick Launch

If you have texts or files you use frequently, you can create notes of them in a category and use Quick Paste or Quick Launch feature to paste or launch them quickly.

You can also specify hotkeys on these features using Shortcut Wizard.

System Clipboard Support

When you create a new note, Note Mania uses contents of the system clipboard at the moment as its text automatically. With this, you can quickly save information you want to keep by creating a note immediately after copying the text into the system clipboard.
Besides text, any file and web browsers'* bookmark/favorite formats are also supported. (* currently Firefox and Internet Explorer)

You can also copy the text or link of a note back into the system clipboard by using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+C) or the note context menu.

Unicode Support

You can use multiple languages for any text you enter.

Command Line Options (and how to use them for a keyboard shortcut)

Note Mania supports several command line options. For example, a shortcut named "New Note" is created when you install Note Mania, with the command line option /n in the Note Mania program group. The option /n is for creating a new note. If you specify a keyboard shortcut using the shortcut's properties dialog, you can use that keyboard shortcut whenever you want to create a new note.

Note Mania recognizes following command line options:
filename - Open the specified note file (.mpn).
/n <text> - Create a new note. <text> is optional.
/p - Open Pad window.
/c - Open Calendar window.
